Public Joint Stock Company Zaporozhye Abrasive Plant is a Ukrainian enterprise with a full production cycle, producing abrasive products.
Products
The main products of the plant:
grinding materials from normal electrocorundum, black silicon carbide, green silicon carbide in the form of grain, grinding powders and microsilver powders;
refractory compounds (boron carbide, boron nitride);
abrasive tool on ceramic and bakelite ligaments;
ceramic ligaments for abrasive tools;
grinding skin and products from it;
cutting and sweeping circles;
History
The plant was commissioned in March 1939 under the name Dnieper Carborundum Plant, its main products were silicon carbide.
Peter Reshetnyak was appointed director.
After the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the plant was evacuated to Tashkent, its restoration at the Zaporozhye industrial site began in July 1946. In the same year, the plant was renamed Zaporozhye plant of abrasive products.
In 1952, the plant began production of normal electrocorundum, in March 1954 - grinding grain, in 1956 - abrasive tools.
In 1957, Evgeny Vukolov became the director.
In 1959, the production of refractory compounds was created - boron carbide and boron nitride.
In 1964, the position of director is occupied by Alexey Porada.
Since 1966, the plant received a new name - Zaporozhye abrasive plant.
On May 16, 1971 the plant was awarded the Order of Lenin.
In 1970, the plant began to produce micropowders from normal electrocorundum. In 1976 - grinding skins on synthetic resins, and in 1981 - products from it.
In 1994, there was a change in the form of ownership, the plant was transformed into an open joint-stock company.
In 1998, Brinkford acquired a controlling stake. In 2010, CJSC Brinkford (Kyiv) owned 64.94% of the plant, and 10.76% - Rinabeil Trading Limited (Cyprus).
1999 the Chairman of the Board of the joint-stock company becomes Anatoly Bereza.
In 2011 Zaporozhye Abrasive Plant was transformed into a public joint stock company.
