Veronica cymbalaria
Description
Veronica cymbalaria is an annual herbaceous plant species within the genus Ehrenpreis (Veronica) of the family Plantainaceae.
### Vegetative Characteristics
The plant grows up to 50 feet tall, but typically reaches a height of around 10-60 centimeters. The lower stem is hairy and long-haired. The leaves are oppositely arranged, with a leaf stem and leaf spread. The leaf spread is round, five to nine lobed, with a slightly wider end lobe, and is reminiscent of the cymbalaria muralis.
### Generative Characteristics
The flowering period runs from February to April in some regions, but can extend to May in others (Source 1). The flowers appear individually and on their shoulders. They are long-stemmed, twix with a double flower shell, and have four white crown leaves that are short-grown only at their base.
### Fruit
The fruit stalks are bent back. A hairy, four-lobed and two-part, multi-seed capsule fruit is produced, with a permanent calyx (salvation) of 1.4-2.5 mm in length.
