January 5 – Technical Director Mark Wotte left the Dutch club Willem II and became the technical director of Feyenoord.

14 February - Tunisia won the trophy for the first time by defeating Morocco in the African International Cup final.
29 February - Middlesbrough received the first trophy after 128 years by defeating Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Cup final.
April 25 – Arsenal took the second Premier League championship in three years.
29 April - San Marino received the first victory of Lihtenstein by defeating 1-0.
May 2 – Milan was a champion of Serie A.
May 8 – Werder Bremen, Bundesliga champion.
May 8 – Valencia, La Liga champion.

May 19 – Valencia received the trophy by defeating Marseille 2-0 in the UEFA Cup final in Gothenburg.
May 22 – Manchester United broke the record by defeating Millwall 3-0 in the FA Cup final.

May 26 – Porto defeated AS Monaco 3-0 in the UEFA Champions League final in Gelsenkirchen.
May 26 – The match of Scotland’s Estonia 1-0 defeated Darren Fletcher captain and thus became the youngest captain of Scotland in 100 years. (20 years old, 114 days).

June 30 – Santo André received the trophy by defeating Flamengo in the Brazilian Cup final.
1 July - Colombian representative Once Caldas, Copa Libertadores in the final of Argentina Representative Boca Juniors in two matches at the end of the 1-1 match defeated 2-0 in penaltys.
4 July - Greece, UEFA Euro 2004 in the final of Portugal received 1-0 by defeating the trophy.
July 25 – Brazil, Copa América received the trophy by 4-2 mağlup in the final of Argentina.
26 July - Technical Director Gerard van der Lem, covulated from Saudi Arabian national football team.
7 August - Japan received the trophy by 3-1 defeating Chinese in the 2004 Asian Cup.
August 8 – Utrecht took Ajax 4-2 by opening the Eredivisie, made in Amsterdam ArenA.
18 August - Technical Director Marco van Basten appeared in the first match with the Dutch national team in Sweden and the match is 2-2. Four players played in the national match for the first time: timens Jan Chromat (AZ), forvet Romeo Castelen (Feyenoord), Dave van den Bergh (Utrecht) and Collins John (Fulham).
26 August - The US defeated 2-1 in the final of the female football tournament in Olympics.
