Ümid is Turkish newspaper published on December 12, 1879- 5 March 1880 by Aleksan Sarrafyan Efendi, the Ottoman island in Cyprus.
After the return to the United Kingdom of the island, Ümid started broadcasting in Larnaka was the first Turkish newspaper released on the island.

After a while, the owner of the newspaper requested permission from the UK authorities in the island to be published again. The UK authorities have positively met this request and the newspaper has not been published again. There is no current copy of the newspaper today.
