Arsos (Greek: Άρσος, Turkish: Yiğitler) is a de facto locality of the Lefkoşa district in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and de jure of the Larnaca district in the Republic of Cyprus.

Location

Arsos is located in the southeast of the island of Cyprus at an altitude of 87 meters. It is situated approximately 25 km southeast of Nicosia, 16 km north of Larnaca, and 28 km west of Famagusta.

The village is about 2 km north of the buffer zone of the Republic of Cyprus. According to the Cypriot administrative division, the district of Nicosia begins to the west, while that of Famagusta (as well as the district of Gazimağusa in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) lies to the east and north.

Population

According to the Statistical Service of Northern Cyprus, as of 2011, the village has a population of 327 inhabitants.

Administrative Status

De facto, Arsos is under the control of Northern Cyprus. However, de jure, it remains part of the Larnaca district in the Republic of Cyprus.
