Ünal Üstel

Early Life and Education

Ünal Üstel was born on January 4, 1955, in Paphos, Cyprus. He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at Istanbul University in 1983.

Political Career

Üstel began his political career after returning to Northern Cyprus. He was elected as a member of the Cyprus Republic Assembly and served in various positions, including vice president and chairman of the Law and Political Affairs Committee.

In 2011, he took office as the Minister of Tourism and Environment in the Küçük Government. In 2021, following the assignment of Ali Pilli, Üstel was appointed as the Health Minister of Northern Cyprus.

On May 12, 2022, Ünal Üstel started serving as the Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. He has been holding this position since then.

Personal Life

Üstel is married and has two children.
